April 25 and 26, 2008

  Parkersburg, West Virginia

WVTESOL, the West Virginia affiliate of TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) will hold its annual conference in Parkersburg, West Virginia.  We expect it to be the best attended West Virginia ESL professional event ever.

The conference theme, “Communicating across Cultures in the 21st Century,” focuses on meeting the challenges of globalization as they impact English language teaching in West Virginia.  All those who are interested in or who are now working with English language learners in school or community settings are invited.  There will be presentations for all levels and settings of ESL, including the public school system, adult and literacy education, and higher education.

The WVTESOL website, www.wvtesol.org, has the call for proposals, registration forms, fees and additional conference information.  If you have other questions or would like to volunteer to help with pre-conference planning, contact conference chair, Randy Oldaker, at Randy.Oldaker@mail.wvu.edu or Pat Banning at winston262@suddenlink.net
